Kendall launched Influence Collective in 2008, following many years in the digital agency business and the establishment of the diverse and well-connected network that resulted from her industry work. She now runs collaborative pursuits through the company — advising and supporting media and tech entrepreneurs in cooperation with other like-minded partners and independent firm principals — working across the East Coast, Midwest and abroad in the UK, Europe, Israel and APAC. Kendall’s nearly three-decade path includes print and digital, spanning publisher and agency sides. She first covered emergent media tech in the SF Bay Area as a moonlighting, independent journalist obsessed with the broadening landscape, rooting herself in coverage of the domain where she now advises others.

Moving from print to digital publishing as our industry was forming, Allen helped found Thrive, an early cross-platform play in content/community, and AOL/Time Inc. joint venture. She then moved to the agency realm on top leadership posts for USWeb/CKS; Euro RSCG Circle, Havas; and others. She spent several years building, managing and/or advising independent agencies or divisions in New York City, before establishing the independent Influence Collective 13 years ago.

A highly regarded thought leader in media circles, she was a frontrunner in the Search Marketing space, as founding team member and original executive at one of the first SEM agencies, Fathom Online, a post that brought her to New York to open the East – and then also as East Coast regional Director of Client Services for iCrossing. She contributes heavily to the industry, as a popular editorial contributor to Media Post, AdAge, iMedia Connection and MarketingLand; advisory boards, including iMedia Summits, Ad Club New York and others; and trainer, speaker, moderator and panelist. She served the 212NYC Board of Directors for several years, 2 of them as Vice President and has served the Producers Guild of America, as national delegate, New Media Executive Council, Vice Chair for the East. She remains an active PGA member.
